World Cup of Quidditch
On Sunday, October 25, 2009, Middlebury College
captured the Snitch and won the World Cup of Quidditch once again. They did
so without blagging, blurtching or blurting.
Some belching was
reported but this is, after all, a college campus.
Inspired by the fictional game played in the Harry Potter
sagas, the 2009 Quidditch World Cup drew more than 20
entries from universities as far away as Texas, Louisiana and
Canada.
The final matches also drew a gaggle of Dementors, who tried to
no avail to suck the pleasure out of the event.
The Dementors looked curiously like Muggles wearing black plastic
bags.
