Day Five

We could have skipped Kusadasi

Kusadasi is one big flea market with blocks and blocks of leather shops and rug merchants.

Every 5 paces you are approached by someone who wants to sell you something. Restaurants are like the Casablanca movie, smokers and extremely slow service.

We ran into problems where restaurants claimed they took credit cards, but then would not have a machine to process the card.

We ended up walking down to the next store with the waiter to have them process the card. Prices were high because they expected you to negotiate everything.

I would have preferred another day in Santorini.

Upon leaving the port we noticed that the lights dimmed on the ship.

We later learned that the ship had lost power for about 45 minutes. We arrived in Mykonos at 1:30 A.M. A fairly ho-hum day as I was not interested in cheap leather goods or very expensive carpets.

The weather continues to be nice and the cruising has been on fairly calm seas.
